Leah Brady (Director) - A former BSDPA alum, Leah received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Kent State University in 2008. While at Kent, Leah performed in works by Cliff Keuter, Kimberly Karpanty, Kora Radella, Gina Kohler and other various choreographers. Leah was also honored to have a featured role in American modern dance pioneer, May O'Donnell's historical work, Suspension (1943), reconstructed and staged by Barbara Allegra Verlezza and Sabatino Verlezza. Upon graduation, Leah furthered her professional career with Project606 in Chicago, Illinois, a Modern Dance Company, for three years.
Alicia McDonald was raised in Connecticut where she danced competitively at Southbury School of Performing Arts in Southbury, CT. She currently attends SUNY Brockport working towards achieving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in the Spring of 2019. Alicia is Vice President of Student Dance Organization and a member of Brockport Dance Team. Alicia is well versed in choreographing Hip-Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary and Modern. Alicia is very excited to start teaching and find a new home at Brockport School of Dance and Performing Arts.
Sarah McLaen graduated Nazareth college with a degree in Speech Therapy and a minor in dance in 2018. She grew up dancing competitively at a local dance studio, and in college she was the president of the largest and most inclusive dance group on campus, Dare2Dance, for 3 years. Sarah teaches tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, modern, hip hop, musical theatre, and more. She also has a passion for working with people with disabilities, and has been bringing those with all types of abilities into the world of dance for the past 8 years. Sarah is new to the BSDPA and is excited to join the family and continuing to share her love of dance with others!
Stephanie Tozer - An alumna of BSDPA, Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Arts for Children in May of 2012. Stephanie then continued her studies at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf/Rochester Technical Institute and received her Bachelor of Science in American Sign Language/English Interpreting. Stephanie has been an instructor at BSDPA since 2008, where she has taught various ages and forms of dance.
Kathy Rubenacker (Seasonal Instructor) - A BSDPA alum, Kathy has been dancing since the age of three and trained at BSDPA for seven years where Kathy was also assistant teacher in the classroom. Kathy was also assistant choreographer on multiple junior high and high school musical productions during her time at Brockport High School. Kathy is currently a student at SUNY Potsdam where she is pursuing a BA in Dance. Kathy will be holding a teaching position while on breaks from college where she will further her teaching and choreography experience.
